Original and interesting, ”Billi” means “Bordeaux ILLIco” (“illico” means immediately in latin), and also stands for “Billy”, an English first name for a mascot that accompanies passengers. This name expresses the proximity and convenience of the new low-cost airport of Bordeaux.

TRANSPOLE, a portmanteau word of “transport” and “metropolis” for the company that manages the public transport network of Urban Community of Lille Metropolis. Simple and modern, this name is consistent with the company’s concept “Lille on the move”.

Composed of parts of two words “Velo” (“Bicycle” in French) and “Liberty”, VELIB evokes mobility and independance. Short, entertaining and friendly, it represents the new system of self-service bicycles that Paris City Hall offers to the Parisians.

With the same range of products “Cohesion”, “Dimension” and “Equation”, “Variation” offers more varied and specific transport service and values the benefit of customers.

Built on the word “soleil” (sun), SOLEA has a very positive tone and shows us the rich symbolism of sunshine, heat, vitality and dynamism. Short and feminine, this name represents the transport networks of the city of Mulhouse.
