Abeille Musique is an independent record label. As such, it protects the elite of French and foreign independent record publishers.
In 2007 the company wanted to launch a new online music service that gives access to all labels (major or independent) and all artists in all musical genres in hi-fi.
This service will also offer extensive album documentation including tens of thousands of digital booklets, artist biographies and interviews, and many exclusive editorial content.
Qobuz is inspired by the name of a traditional musical instrument of the Kazakhs of Mongolia, whose name has been discovered to mean “where the musical buzz is made”. This distinctive and exotic word expresses passion and search for quality music.
